Prince Andrew uses Microsoft-owned Yammer, and opens a new Yammer London Office at Silicon Roundabout,
The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, officially opened Yammer’s new London headquarters in the heart of London’s Tech City – and claimed to be a big user of the social network to organise events.
The enterprise social network will occupy three floors near Silicon Roundabout, which it says is testament to the strength of its EMEA business and the growth of the team.
The Duke was present as part of his commitment to promoting the UK technology industry and recounted his own personal experience with Yammer, which he used to organise a dinner party for 200 guests.

Yammer first moved to Tech City last July when it opened its first European Headquarters, but the expansion of its business, which was acquired by Microsoft in a £763 million takeover in June, has necessitated the move.
“This move is a significant sign of the appetite for enterprise social networking and collaboration tools in the UK and EMEA at the moment,” said Georg Ell, EMEA general manager for Yammer. “Yammer arrived in London just 16 months ago and already we have grown the team from three to 85.”
The facility will house Yammer’s EMEA leadership team, sales, customer success, marketing and recruitment as well as the new Yammer development centre – its first outside San Francisco.
“Yammer’s expansion in Tech City underlines again London’s position as Europe’s digital capital,” said Boris Johnson, Mayor of London. “London is a global magnet for high tech giants alongside a growing cluster of exciting start-ups. This sector’s burgeoning growth is providing high value jobs for Londoners, as well supporting valuable supply chains. This all demonstrates the attractiveness of London as the world’s leading 21st century business city and a great place to invest.”
