Phones 4U reviews the latest smartphone in the immensely popular Galaxy range

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphone was launched in the US in March, and is expected to appear in the UK on 26 April.

It is thinner than its predecessor and actually smaller in size, despite the bigger 5-inch full HD display.

Phones 4U, one of UK’s leading mobile phone retailers, has already put together a video review for the device which was supposedly “designed to get you closer to what matters in life”, and you can see it below.

The latest offering from Korea is expected to compete with such heavyweights as the iPhone 5, HTC One, BlackBerry Z10 and waterproof Sony Xperia Z. And judging by the hardware specifications, it is up to the task.

Samsung Galaxy S4 4The Galaxy S4 features a display capable of 1920×1080 resolution, with pixel density hitting the boundaries of human vision, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It runs Android 4.2.2 on a 1.9GHz quad-core processor, features 4G connectivity and will be available in white and grey, with further colours introduced later in the year.

The smartphone packs plenty of new software features, like AirView, which allows users to preview messages by hovering a finger over them, S Health which helps users monitor their well-being, and SmartPause, which pauses the video when you look away.

A recent poll on TechWeekEurope revealed that over a third of our readers are keen to get their hands on a Samsung Galaxy S4.

Below, Dan Grose from Phones 4U looks at the new smartphone in more detail. His overall first impression: the plastic case can feel a bit cheap, but the display is one of the best on the market, and the 13 megapixel camera produces outstanding images.
