Three Data Down For Customers Across UK
Three apologises following a fairly significant 3G outage
Mobile operator Three said today data services were down for a portion of its customers across the UK, as it rushes to fix the problems.
Angry customers flocked to Twitter to vent their frustration at not being able to access 3G connections, many based in London, but others as far away as Plymouth, hinting at a UK-wide problem.

“Some of our customers are unable to access the Internet. We are working to restore their data services as soon as possible. We apologise to all those affected for any inconvenience,” a Three spokesperson said
Later the company said it was “restoring services now”. “Internet access across London is back up and running. Whole network will be this afternoon,” a message on the official Three Twitter account read.
Three doesn’t run a live status page and there was no additional information on what was behind the outage.
The operator is particularly proud of its 3G network and is currently running adverts saying that whilst 4G is great, it can already provide “ultrafast” speeds to users on its existing hardware.
The firm isn’t expected to release a 4G offering ahead of other competitors, such as Vodafone, which yesterday hinted its service will be released before the end of the summer.
But Three has signed a deal with Samsung to provide the backhaul for its eventual 4G network.
