TechWeek readers see themselves as great integrators – but their biggest bugbear is budgets, according to research revealed at our latest Tech Club evening.
Tech Club, our series of networking events for readers, looked at the factors that make up a successful IT project, and encouraged members to get applications in when our 2013 Tech Success Awards opens for entrants. We also dished out four Raspberry Pi computers in a raffle, along with a Tech Club T-shirt which was a larger size then we expected.
The evening featured research: a survey of Tech Club members found that the most challenging part of IT work at the moment is the issue of budget – getting the funds to do the work you need to do.
While 31 percent of Tech Club members see money as the top concern, 23 percent are concerned about making the best use of mobile technology. Perhaps surprisingly, given the ever-increasing number of threats, only 17 percent put security top.
Mobile might be a challenge, but it’s also a key element in delivering success, according to 28 percent of people answering another part of the survey. That only narrowly beat “training” (26 percent) as an element of tech success.
Despite giving us a clear picture of the difficulties any tech organisation faces, our Tech Club members are clearly not daunted. More than half (53 percent) say that integration is their key strength. And more than half have delivered a successful IT project in the last year.
More of you are very welcome to join Tech Club, to get invitations to future events, and access to other benefits.
Our Tech Success Awards will be open for entrants shortly. We want to hear from you, if you have a successful IT project built in Britain in the last year.
