T-Mobile has added its name to the list of UK mobile operators that will offer the iPhone 4 after it launches on 24 June. The handset will also be stocked by O2, Vodafone and Orange, as well as Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.
None of the operators have yet revealed details on pricing or tariff plans, but all have said that information will be revealed “in due course”.
“This is beyond doubt one of the most precise, beautiful things we’ve ever done,” said Jobs at the event, describing the device as “the biggest leap since the original iPhone”.
The phone’s final release follows months in which news and photos of prototypes leaked in California and in Vietnam. The eventual product matched the leaked prototypes very closely.
The UK is among the first five countries to receive the handset. O2 has launched a dedicated site to provide UK customers with information, while Vodafone is asking customers to register for updates. O2 has also announced a limited time upgrade offer for existing customers to get their hands on the new iPhone 4G.
High street retailer Phones4U is letting customers pre-register for the handset on its site. “We anticipate that the imminent arrival of the hotly anticipated iPhone 4 will continue to drive strong sales and market share which will be compounded by the arrival of competing smartphones to the market from the other handset manufacturers,” said Phones 4U CEO, Tim Whiting.

Will be good to finally see the handset on T-Mobile, I've been with them for over 6 years and was thinking of leaving at the end of my contract (July 4th) to pursue an iPhone 4. Guess this means I can keep my employee discount and bag 1/2 price line rental on my new iPhone 4 too XD
I just hope their not going to be asking too much for the price plans or the phone itself, an iPod Touch 32gb retails at £234 so I'm expecting the UK iPhone 32gb handsets to be around that. Maybe a little cheaper since they can offset it a little against the price plan, so possibly around the £199 mark because that sounds "nicer" I guess only time will tell.

Steve,
I'm sorry to disappoint but I do not believe that T-Mobile will over the iphone 4G on friends and family.
the phone is hellishly expensive and to then ask the company to give you half price on your plan is unrealistic.
I'm pretty sure that if you want it on an upgrade it will be fairly expensive. I think your figure of £249 may be the number on an upgrade!
You gotta remember though, now that Orange and TMobile have joined, their purchasing power is massive, so you might find handsets (not just iPhone) are cheaper than we might expect. Could be interesting.
