Steve Wozniak to Keynote London Conference

Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak will address the enterprise IT event IP Expo, in London in October.

With Steve Jobs’ resignation from the tech giant still reverberating through the industry, delegates will be interested in any insights from “Woz” on Apple’s prospects, alongside a conference programme which explores the main issues for corporate IT, on October 19 and 20 at Earl’s court 2 in London.

UK’s Largest enterprise IT event

IP Expo, 19-20 October, Earls Court 2Event organiser Imago says that the free seminar programme and extensive exhibition make IP EXPO the UK’s largest enterprise IT event, with a programme it describes as “comprehensive, cost-effective, quality-controlled and educational”.

“The past several years have witnessed momentous changes to IT infrastructure as take-up of new and evolving technologies such as cloud computing and virtualisation has increased,” an Imago spokesperson said. “Governance and risk management have also risen in significance as the IT ‘puzzle’ becomes more complex.

“Amid these developments, IT professionals all over the world are racing to keep up with the security threats posed by viruses, hacking, phishing, data loss and leakage, and even insider espionage and intellectual property theft.”

from Apple to storage

Currently chief scientist at storage company Fusion-io, Wozniak co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs. Since leaving, he has kept an eye on the fortunes of the company he founded, predicting in 2010 that Android phones would outsell Apple’s iPhone – a prediction that has come true.

Fusion-io believes that solid-state storage will rapidly replace hard disks, and is working to ensure that SQL database software is updated to take advantage of the properties of the new medium.
