Which Social Media Channel Is Best For Business?

Life is pretty much unthinkable without social media now, but which channels actually work for business? That’s the question posed by the latest TechWeekEurope poll.

Do you rate Google+, or Like Facebook? Do you think LinkedIn still rules for business use, despite its recent password breach? Or do you  think social media is actually over-rated for business use?

Tracking the social climbers

It’s a question we’ve asked before, and each time the answer is different. Back in February of 2011, we channeled the sceptics in our readership and were told in no uncertain terms, that social networking is “a pointless waste of time” and “an insane security risk”.

That changed rapidly. By July 2011, we had you debating the relative merits of different networks, with LinkedIn a solid leader, the then-new-and-hip Google+ in a solid second position, and Facebook trailing behind. A few months later, in November 2011, Facebook pages were in the lead, and Google+ was nowhere to be seen.

With that sort of volatility it’s about time we ran a new poll. Click the social network you like best for work, and if we missed your favourite, tell us in a comment on this story.

We also included the option of the phone or the pub, to give sceptics an outlet. We may regret including the “pub” option, in a poll that launches on a Friday afternoon.

Whatever, tell us your thoughts!
