Samsung Electronics America have revealed its latest line of network, duplex printers aimed at small to medium-size businesses.
The multifunction SCX-4835FR, SCX-5639FR and wireless SCX-5739FW printers offer added security, and the ML-3312ND, ML-3712ND and ML-3712DW models feature faster output, according to a company release.
The ML-3312ND, ML-3712ND, SCX-4835FR and SCX-5639FR will be available this month for $199 (£124), $249 (£155), $449 (£280) and $549 (£343), respectively.
The ML-3712DW and SCX-5739FW will be available in March at $299 (£187) and $699 (£437), respectively.
The SCX-4835FR, SCX-5639FR and wireless SCX-5739FW multifunction printers feature the company’s Secure Pull Printing, which gives users the option to print to any device on their network while ensuring that only the specified user can collect the document.
The printer requires an authentication code before producing the document at time of pickup. This feature is targeted at users in financial, government and health care environments where multiple users are printing confidential information.
Embedded bar codes are designed to help offices manage paperwork more easily, including shipment tracking, purchase orders and similar documents. These models are the first printers with Samsung/’s new, proprietary anti-jam roller technology.
“Samsung is anticipating the needs of our business customers as they continue to increase expectations for safer, more intuitive print options,” said Ken Colby, director of printer marketing at Samsung Electronics’ enterprise business division. “In our latest line of printers we are introducing features like anti-jam technology and Secure Pull Printing that are indispensable for a more efficient workplace.”
For faster copying and scanning, the SCX-4835FR, SCX-5639FR and SCX-5739FW include a Reversal Automatic Document Feeder. These printers also support up to 50 pounds of a variety of paper types. Most of the printers in Samsung’s new lines include the 600MHz dual-core processor for faster prints. The ML-3712ND/DW, SCX-5639FR and SCX-5739FW print at 37 pages per minute, while the SCX-4835FR and ML-3312ND print at 33 ppm.
The ML-3712ND, ML-3712DW, SCX-5639FR and SCX-5739FW use an extra high yield toner, which lowers the cost per page. The ML-3312ND and SCX-4835FR toner cartridges yield up to 2,000 and 5,000 pages, respectively. All Samsung printers can be found at select Samsung resellers and channel partners.
Both of Samsung’s new printer lines feature Eco-Mode, giving users the option to adjust settings, depending on the print job, to save energy and paper or toner consumption when possible. In addition to the Eco-Mode feature, the ML-3312ND, ML-3712ND and ML-3712DW decrease the user’s environmental impact with lower noise output of just 52 decibels.
