Meanwhile, built-in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync functionality enables the device to synchronise the user’s calender, tasks, contacts and email, and also provides mobile device management and policy controls.
The Galaxy S II also comes pre-installed with Samsung’s Kies Air application, allowing it to sync wirelessly with a PC. It has an 8 Megapixel camera, capable of 1080p video recording , supports Adobe Flash, and will offer built-in NFC technology (although NFC handsets will be 0.4mm thicker).
A versatile device
Some have found this handset’s lightweight body disconcerting, but in the long-term it will likely prove to be a great asset. The combination of a bright, clear screen and intuitive Android 2.3 features make it one of the most exciting new devices this month.
Samsung has succeeded in creating an attractive smartphone that will appeal to both consumers and business users. Its slim frame makes it stand out in the crowd at Mobile World Congress, and could prove a fine rival to new HTC devices on the market.
