Oracle Hooks Up With NetSuite For More Cloud Collaboration

Oracle is getting friendlier by the day, forming a strategic partnership with NetSuite after forming other cloud agreements with long-time rivals Salesforce and Microsoft.

The latest agreement will see Oracle and Netsuite integrate their HCM and ERP cloud technologies for mid-size organisations. Deloitte has also been brought in to create a services organisation to help customers run the integrated software-as-a-service (SaaS) products.

The products will simply be called NetSuite for Oracle HCM Cloud and NetSuite Cloud ERP.

“Driving the development and retention of the right talent, and getting strategic data around HR practices can help mid-size companies transform their business operations,” said Oracle president Mark Hurd.

Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite, added: “Customers will benefit from the commonality of the products’ underlying Oracle-based architecture and the enormous investment in R&D and customer service that both companies bring to the table.”

Oracle has struggled to turn its well-known software offerings into viable cloud-based solutions, which many believe is the reason behind its collaborative push.

Its Saleforce deal will also see cloud technologies merged, whilst getting a load of Oracle hardware and software in Salesforce data centres.

The Microsoft partnership will have Oracle’s database supported on Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualisation platform and Azure cloud service, alongside the competing Microsoft SQL Server.
