Oracle Hooks Up With NetSuite For More Cloud Collaboration

Oracle is getting friendlier by the day, forming a strategic partnership with NetSuite after forming other cloud agreements with long-time rivals Salesforce and Microsoft.

The latest agreement will see Oracle and Netsuite integrate their HCM and ERP cloud technologies for mid-size organisations. Deloitte has also been brought in to create a services organisation to help customers run the integrated software-as-a-service (SaaS) products.

The products will simply be called NetSuite for Oracle HCM Cloud and NetSuite Cloud ERP.

Oracle and NetSuite love-in

“Driving the development and retention of the right talent, and getting strategic data around HR practices can help mid-size companies transform their business operations,” said Oracle president Mark Hurd.

Zach Nelson, CEO of NetSuite, added: “Customers will benefit from the commonality of the products’ underlying Oracle-based architecture and the enormous investment in R&D and customer service that both companies bring to the table.”

Oracle has struggled to turn its well-known software offerings into viable cloud-based solutions, which many believe is the reason behind its collaborative push.

Its Saleforce deal will also see cloud technologies merged, whilst getting a load of Oracle hardware and software in Salesforce data centres.

The Microsoft partnership will have Oracle’s database supported on Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualisation platform and Azure cloud service, alongside the competing Microsoft SQL Server.
