Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 Windows Phones Leaked On Twitter?
Leaked images suggest PureView imaging capabilities ahead of Wednesday announcement
An image purporting to be the Windows Phone 8-powered Nokia Lumia 920 has been leaked on Twitter, ahead of the device’s expected announcement later this week.
Nokia and Microsoft are scheduled to unveil the Finnish manufacturer’s first devices running the latest version of the mobile operating system on Wednesday at an event in New York, coinciding with Nokia World in Helsinki.
The Tweet from @evleaks leaking the photo suggests that the Nokia Lumia 920 will boast a 4.5-inch screen and make use of the PureView imaging capabilities first seen in the Nokia 808 Pureview.

The 808 PureView was shown off at Mobile World Congress earlier this year and boasts a 41 megapixel camera. However it used Symbian, an operating system that Nokia has all but abandoned since its switch to Windows Phone, and no major UK network was prepared to stock the device. This meant that anyone interested would have to pay £499.98 to get it without a contract.
The same Twitter user also tweeted a photo of what it claimed was a lower-end handset, the Nokia Lumia 820.
Nokia is hoping that Windows Phone 8 smartphones will help it reverse its fortunes, following massive losses of £1.1 billion, and the company created a video last week set to hype its big announcement.
A confidential document apparently originating from Nokia revealed that Windows Phone 8 will include support for Near Field Communication, MicroSD slots, quad-core processors and over-the-air software updates. It is however, incompatible with current generation of Windows Phone devices.
