Motorola Droid 4 Specs And Pics Leaked

Specifications and pictures of Motorola’s latest smartphone, the Motorola Droid 4 have been leaked onto the internet

The device, which is due to be released in the US on Verizon on 8 December, boasts a design that is very similar to the Motorola Droid Razr, released earlier this month.

Slide out Keyboard

According to Droid Life, the Droid 4 has a 4” screen that’s slightly smaller than the Droid Razr’s 4.3” AMOLED display as well as an 8 megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera capable of producing HD video for chats.

The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, has 1GB of RAM and includes support for 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity. However most interesting is the inclusion of a slide-out five-row keyboard.

The Droid 4 and slimline Droid Razr are the latest efforts to revive the fortunes of Motorola Mobility, which was formed when Motorola split its mobile division from its business division to create two separate companies.

Earlier this year, Motorola Mobility was forced to issue profit warnings due to product delays and lower than expected sales of the Motorola Xoom, which sold just 100,000 units despite receiving positive reviews and was expected to tbe first Android Honeycomb tablet to challenge the iPad 2.

But these disappointments did not stop Google from announcing a £7.7 billion takeover of the company in a move widely seen as an attempt to strengthen the Android platform and acquire key patents in its ongoing legal struggles with Apple and others.
