Microsoft UK Gets New Boss

Microsoft has announced a reshuffle with a new managing director in the UK, as the former UK MD moves off to run Microsoft’s China region.

Michel van der Bel has been appointed MD for Microsoft UK, and former MD with a shake up of staff that sees the former UK MD  Gordon Frazer made chief operating officer for Microsoft Greater China Region (GCR). Microsoft’s former China CEO, Simon Leung has left the post for family reasons.

van der Bel will report to Jean-Phillipe Courtois, president of Microsoft International (pictured).

Frazer’s reign at Microsoft UK was touched by controversy, with former colleagues alleging foul play and sexism. These were settled out of court, drawing a line under the matter.
