Microsoft Office On iPad, iPhone and Android Confirmed
Mobile versions appear to be confirmed in Czech Republic
Microsoft Office 2013 apps on iPad, iPhone and Android could be arriving early next year, according to Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek.
Speaking at a press event in the Czech Republic, Bobek confirmed that native apps for the mobile operating systems would be released in March 2013. An iOS version of the popular office suite has long been rumoured, but speculation about an Android version has been less intense.
Bobek’s statement appears to have been confirmed by a press release from Microsoft’s Czech team which has been seen by The Verge.

“In addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian,” Microsoft is reported to have said. The press release also apparently says that Office 2013 will be made available to businesses in December with a consumer launch taking place next February.
“Office 365 services and other Office products for mobile (phones and tablets) will be released from March 2013,” it continued. Microsoft had not responded to TechWeekEurope’s requests for comment at the time of publication.
Any Microsoft Office iOS app would get a great reception from iPhone and iPad users who want to edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on their device. In February, it was reported that an iPad app was ready to be submitted for approval, while a job advert in July appeared to confirm its existence.
Microsoft has previously released a number of iOS applications, including cloud storage service SkyDrive and note-taking software OneNote.
