LG Optimus Black In Stock At Amazon
The Optimus Black smartphone is now in stock at Amazon UK, according to LG, carrying a price tag of £444.95
LG has announced on its site that the Optimus Black P970 has become available for purchase at Amazon UK, despite earlier reports that the handset would not be released in the country until 14 May.
Besides the online shopping site, the LG Optimus Black has reportedly also become available on Orange and T-Mobile UK, according to The Inquirer, which cited the phone manufacturer itself as a source.
However, the product is still labelled as “coming soon” on T-Mobile’s site at the time of writing.
Slim, light and colourful
LG’s Optimus Black is among the world’s thinnest and lightest Android smartphones, measuring just 9.2mm thick and weighing only 109 grams.
Its 4-inch touchscreen also features LG’s Nova technology for the first time, promising a clearer readability, better visibility in direct sunlight as well as a more natural web browsing experience by displaying “truer colours,” according to the South Korean phone maker.
Running Android 2.2 (Froyo), the smartphone comes equipped with a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel model on the front, and 2GB of inbuilt storage, expandable up to 32GB with a microSD card.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics plans to snatch double-digit market share in the global mobile handset market by 2012, relying heavily on Google’s Android operating system.
The company is also determined to become one of the top two positions in the industry, battling against its rivals Samsung and Nokia.
