LeWeb Paris (Video): Nokia And The Appeal Of Simplicity
FRANCE: Marko Ahtisaari, head of design at Nokia talks about design.
It has been almost two years since Nokia made the decision to abandon Symbian to focus on Windows Phone OS. The company has been through some tough times, but it is confident that the gamble is finally paying off.
Last week saw the launch of Lumia 620 – the first affordable smartphone based on Windows Phone 8. It is expected to appear in Europe in January 2013, at an estimated street price of £155. While visiting LeWeb Paris, our colleagues from Silicon France had a chance to chat with Marko Ahtisaari, man responsible for the original “tasty” look of the Lumia phones.
Connecting people… and things
According to Ahtisaari, creating simple things is actually a very complicated task. Below, you can see him discuss the choice of colours for the Lumia phones, and the search for the perfect interface – the one which dissolves into the environment.
LeWeb hit London for the first time this year, and will be coming back in 2013, on June 5 and 6.
