LeWeb 2013: Viber – 200 Million Users Are Just The Start

Talmon Marco, founder and CEO of instant messaging service Viber, tells TechWeekEurope that 200 million users are not enough

Viber, the instant messaging service for mobile platforms, is among the companies blamed for the decline of texting. It has over 200 million users around the world, and ravenously guards their privacy – the fact that doesn’t sit well with authorities in Saudi Arabia, where Viber has been switched off earlier this week.

We met Viber’s founder and CEO at LeWeb London 2013, to talk about the death of sms, the role of network operators in the digital age, privacy and Eastern Europe.
