LeWeb 2013: Airbnb – ‘Shareconomy’ Is Here To Stay

Airbnb, a short-term property rental platform launched in 2008, has changed the way we think about social startups. Who would have thought that millions of people will trust strangers for their housing needs, and a company founded by three friends in a loft will grow big enough to threaten traditional hotel business, collecting over $100 million in venture capital along the way?

Nicolas Ferrary, the French manager for Airbnb, tells TechWeekEurope that ‘shareconomy’ is much more than a buzzword.
