British Smartphone Maker Kazam Launches Its First LTE Smartphone

British smartphone manufacturer Kazam has announced three new mobile phone ranges ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next week, including its first LTE smartphone, the Thunder2 4.5L.

The Android 4.3-based smartphone will be available from the second quarter of 2014, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 32GB through a MicroSD card slot.

It will be released alongside the slightly larger Kazam Thunder2 5.0, which runs Android version 4.2.2. Jelly Bean and has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera.

“The demand for LTE-enabled phones continues to grow across Europe,” says said Michael Coombes, CEO, Kazam. “Our announcement today demonstrates our commitment to the market, and our ability to react quickly.”

The company, which was formed by former HTC executives Coombes and James Atkins last year, is also refreshing its mid-range Trooper2 brand with four new handsets, as well as launching a range of feature phones which are aimed to be easy to use – an area which it believes there is definite room for growth.

All smartphones in the Kazam Life range will feature smart SOS, an emergency button that will phone up to five pre-programmed contacts, moving onto the next one automatically if it reaches someone’s voicemail.

All Kazam smartphones will come with screen protection and have two year warranty as standard, something which it says helps to differentiate it in a crowded marketplace.

“It’s not enough to stand for one thing in the fast paced mobile industry, Kazam must continue to innovate in areas often overlooked by the competition,” adds Atkins.
