It’s the first time Apple has ever unveiled two smartphones at the same time, while the company has also given the iPhone 5 an early retirement, rather than discount it as it has done with previous models.

iPhone ambitions

iPhone 5S (7)The company hopes its twin-handset strategy will allow the iPhone 5S to compete at the top of the smartphone market with the likes of Samsung, HTC, LG and Nokia, while it holds ambitions for the iPhone 5C to increase its market share with mid-range users.
