The term Big Data refers to collections of datasets so large and complex that they become impossible to work with using traditional data processing tools. However, information in such quantities often hides valuable insight that can help prevent diseases, combat crime and get ahead in business.

Data analytics has always been a part of business strategy. But in the last few years, computers have become more advanced, social networks have become more popular, and mobile devices have started capturing information about our daily lives at an increasing rate – all of which has put  Big Data into the spotlight.
