HTC has announced the release of the HTC One X+, a “refreshed version” of its current flagship HTC One X smartphone.
The HTC One X+ promises a longer battery life, increased performance and a range of other improvements over its predecessor, which was released earlier this year to positive reviews.
The Taiwanese manufacturer said the device will be available in Europe from October, but no pricing details have been revealed.
One of the most noted aspects of the HTC One X was its processing power and HTC has boosted it yet further with a 1.7 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra3 processor which promises to be up to 67 percent faster, providing quicker browsing, gaming, graphic rendering and downloads. This is supported by the latest version of Android, 4.1 Jelly Bean along with HTC Sense4+ and 64GB of storage.
The smartphone possesses the same camera capabilities of the One X in addition to a new sightseeing mode, which allows users to bypass the lock screen and directly launch the camera. The One X+’s media capabilities have been supplemented by HTC Watch 2.0, which provides access to a number of movies.
“We are taking the HTC One X to a new level with the introduction of the new HTC One X+,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC. “Our customers will have super-fast browsing, an even better camera and more immersive entertainment with Beats Audio.”
Last month, HTC announced two brand news smartphones running Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system, the HTC 8X and lower-end 8S.
