HTC Incredible S Exclusive To Carphone Warehouse

The HTC Incredible S will be available exclusively at Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy in the UK

HTC’s latest Android-powered smartphone ‘Incredible S’, launched at Mobile World Congress, will be exclusive to Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy during its initial rollout in the UK.

“This launch underlines the progress we are making with HTC as our strategic partner,” said Graham Stapleton, CCO for Best Buy Europe, expressing optimism that the handset will soon become a hit.

Unveiled yesterday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Incredible S sports a 4-inch LCD display and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It also features an 8-megapixel camera with dual flash and autofocus – capable of 720 pixel HD video recording – and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing webcam for video chats.

According to HTC, the smartphone will initially run Android 2.2 (Froyo) but will be upgradable to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) in the near future. Its release date is yet to be confirmed but the device  is expected to enter the UK market as early as next month.

LG Optimus 3D

Apart from HTC’s Incredible S, the Mobile World Congress has also spotted LG unveil its Optimus 3D that allows users to record, view and share 3D content for the first time in the world, according to the handset maker.

The device’s LCD panel can display 3D images that can be viewed without special eyewear. It also features what LG termed ‘a trial-dual configuration,’ which includes dual-core, dual channel and dual memory architecture.

Similar to the Incredible S, the Optimus 3D runs Android 2.2 and will be upgradable to Android 2.3. It will be rolled out globally, starting in Europe early in the second quarter.
