Fujitsu Launches ‘Human-Centric’ Stylistic Q55 Enterprise Tablet

Fujitsu has revealed a new enterprise class tablet which it says embraces its new ethos of “human-centric technology” by helping businesses make the most of mobility in the workplace.

The 10.1-inch Fujitsu Stylistic Q55 runs Windows 8.1 and is powered by a 2.4GHz Intel Atom Z3795 quad core processor, 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of encrypted SSD storage.

The supposed “human-centric” approach sees the inclusion of an anti-glare scratch-resistant WUXGA display that can be used in direct sunlight, up to ten hours of battery life and a light weight of 655g.

There’s also an additional keyboard that can turn the Q555 into a more conventional laptop format, while there is optional 4G connectivity and Near Field Communication support, along with other add-ons like a fingerprint and smart card reader to boost security.

Fujitsu claims the flexibility of the device provides the perfect balance between productivity and mobility, allowing businesses to customise the tablet to suit their needs.

“Fujitsu has worked closely with its business customers around the world to ensure that the new Fujitsu Tablet StylistcQ555 is the ideal tablet for mobilised roles,” says Jörg Hartmann, vice president of Global Client Computing Devices at Fujitsu. “An attachable keyboard, enterprise-grade security, latest connectivity and a cradle allow users to accomplish their tasks, whether on the road, or in virtually any workplace.”

The tablet made its debut at the Fujitsu Forum in Munich, where the Japanese manufacturer has announced a number of other new products, including the PalmSecure ID Match which combines a card reader with biometric sensor, and has detailed its PrimeFlex range of converged infrastructure systems.
