eWEEK Europe is running a prize draw for subscribers to our newsletter – the prize is an Google Nexus One phone, with a UK power adapter, unlocked to work with any mobile operator.
Google has confirmed that the Nexus One smartphone, running its Android operating system, will launch in the UK in April. As well as Google’s home page it will be sold by Vodafone. Our own Nexus phone just arrived in our office today, however, ordered from the US but with a IK power adapter.
We’ve unboxed the device (below) and it lives up to the model we reviewed in January. We powered it up and checked it with a SIM card or two, and it really is unlocked to work with UK mobile networks (we heard that early Nexus phones had some trouble with US networks).
Now, although it pained us to do it, we’ve put it back in the box, ready for a lucky prize draw winner we’ll be picking at the end of the month.
For your chance to win the phone, subscribe to our newsletter. The draw is open to anyone in the UK, except NetMediaEurope staff. If you already subscribe, don’t worry, no need to cancel and join again – we’ll enter all our existing newsletter readers in the draw as well.
The Google Nexus One phone, built by HTC, has been well received since it was launched in January. HTC has launched a non-Google version of it as the Desire, at Mobile World Congress last month.
