Compuware Beefs Up APM With dynaTrace Integration

Compuware has upgraded and extended its extending its application-performance-management-as-a-service (APMaaS) solution.

The updated solution now includes dynaTrace PurePath Technology and the Gomez Performance Network, creating a robust user experience management (UEM) solution.

Compuware claims to offer the industry’s only APMaaS solution that provides a complete UEM offering, including real-user, synthetic, third-party service monitoring and business impact analysis.

Compuware’s APMaaS delivery model, auto-instrumentation and single-click to root-cause diagnostics for both real user and synthetic transactions provides deep and broad insight into application performance, the company said.

“Today more than ever, IT organisations are squeezed between mounting complexity, increased user and business demand, and the manpower and funding to keep up,” John Van Siclen, general manager of Compuware’s APM business unit, said in a statement. “Now, thanks to the convergence of two of our key technologies – PurePath from dynaTrace and the Gomez Performance Network – into a single cloud-based environment, customers now have a complete, on-demand solution for application performance management from the user perspective.”

Compuware APMaaS enables organisations to optimise user experience, manage performance, availability and service levels from a unified real-user and synthetic perspective, all within a single on-demand platform for fast and easy deployment.

The Compuware APMaaS solution offers a complete view of application performance and actual end-user experience for all users, browsers, devices and geographies, the company said. The offering understands and quantifies “visits” for expanded use cases such as the help desk, and it automatically identifies and monitors all landing pages for better search engine optimisation (SEO) and measures every transaction, including JavaScript/AJAX page actions, mobile tap and swipe.

Business Outlook

Regarding synthetic monitoring, Compuware provides an “outside-in” perspective of Web, mobile and cloud application availability and service levels. The Compuware solution also identifies when key pages and transactions are slow or unavailable from multiple regions around the world before customers are affected. With the PurePath Technology, users can drill inline into transaction anomalies for faster problem resolution.

In addition, Compuware measures the performance of all third-party services like content delivery networks (CDNs), ads, social media and video, and enables companies to instantly determine if a problem’s root cause is internal or due to a specific service provider. It also enables users to capture sessions for offline analysis with third-party providers.

Moreover, the Compuware solution provides a look at the overall business outlook, quantifying the impact of application performance on real-user experience, customer satisfaction and business results. This enables users to track real-time conversions, abandonment and revenue alongside performance, and to prioritise action based on business facts, not IT guesswork.
