Power management company 1E has upgraded its NightWatchman software to include an enterprise dashboard.
Nightwatchman helps manage power use by desktop PCs by powering them down when not in use. Version 6.0 includes a web dashboard, and more detailed energy usage and tariff information, so customers can see how much energy they are saving.
The company also announced insurance giant Aviva (formerly Norwich Union) is using NightWatchman for its 30,000 desktop PCs. Aviva carried out a test on 856 PCs during May 2010, and if the savings scale up across the whole company, it will save the equivalent of the emissions from 500 family cars each year.
