The Linux Box To Push Ubuntu In US

The Linux Box has announced a partnership with Canonical Ltd. whereby The Linux Box will market the Ubuntu Linux operating system in the U.S.

As a Canonical Silver Solution Provider Partner, The Linux Box will sell, install and support customised Ubuntu-based solutions to organisations running Linux systems. It will also provide businesses with large-scale migration deployment support and training services for cloud computing infrastructures and enterprise desktop alternatives.

“Combining forces with The Linux Box enables many more US businesses in every industry to embrace Ubuntu as their end-to-end open source data centre solution,” said Steve George, director of corporate services at Canonical, in a statement. “We look forward to Ubuntu being The Linux Box’s best-of-breed open source solution.”

The Linux Box is a software development consultancy that customises open source projects for clients across a variety of sectors.

“Ubuntu’s game-changing operating system model is catching on with original equipment manufacturers and business organisations of all sizes,” said Elizabeth Ziph, CEO and co-founder of The Linux Box, in a statement. “We hope to help educate enterprises to Ubuntu’s solid performance characteristics and to expand its market share.”
