HP To Offer Office 365 With Enterprise Support

HP has agreed a deal with Microsoft to offer Office 365 directly to customers, offering them the chance to use the cloud-based office suite with HP support and using the firm’s data centres.

Businesses who take HP Enterprise Services for Office 365 will be assisted from the initial deployment and will be provided with ongoing management, analysis and end-user support.

Customers will be also be given a choice of HP data centre, allowing them to choose where their documents and data are stored, affording them with additional privacy protection if they wish.

“HP enterprise clients are seeking to create a collaborative and flexible workplace using comprehensive end-to-end solutions that address their complex IT environments,” said Mike Nefkens, executive vice president of HP Enterprise Services, who announced the deal at HP Discover in Barcelona.

“Teaming up with Microsoft will allow HP to offer our industry leading enterprise services with Microsoft’s widely adopted Office 365 suite, starting with Exchange Online running on HP servers in HP data centres.”

Microsoft has made a number of enhancements to Office 365 in recent months, adding collaboration tools, MDM features and APIs, while it has also refreshed its SMB plans. Integration deals with Dropbox and Box have also been announced and Microsoft believes its latest partnership with HP will boost the productivity suite even further.

“Microsoft is committed to helping companies transform and grow their productivity with the cloud,” said Qi Lu, executive vice president of Microsoft’s Applications and Services Group. “This solution brings together the best of both companies to meet the requirements of the most demanding enterprises.”

HP and Mcirosoft have promised to work closely to deliver all of the advantages outlined and HP Enterprise Service for Office 365 is available immediately on a ‘per user’ basis.
