HP Adds Microsoft’s EMS To Mobile Security Service

Hewlett-Packard has added Microsoft’s business mobility suite to its own mobility security service, building on a previous agreement for HP to provide Office 365 with its business services.

Microsoft’s Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) allows employees to use apps and devices within a safe ecosystem, preventing leaks of corporate data.

“When deploying mobility and workplace solutions in the enterprise, our customers want a simplified, consumer-grade experience that empowers employees to be more productive anytime, anywhere on any device they choose,” said Mike Nefkens, executive vice president, HP Enterprise Services.

Integration

Implementing EMS into an existing Windows environment allows for “strong integration” with Office 365 and Windows 8.1, according to HP, claiming this integration will only increase with the release of Windows 10.

The company also launched new security tools this week as part of an infosec push for businesses. HP says the tools focus on locking down interactions users have with their apps and data, rather than preventing threats from the outside.

HP is bulking up its Atalla cloud access security platform, as well as adding behavioural analytics wizardry to 2010 security acquisition ArcSight.

“Organisations are continuing to transition workloads to the cloud and increasingly adopt cloud applications, which present a breadth of new security challenges for CISOs including compliance, activity monitoring and access,” said Albert Biketi, general manager, HP Security, Atalla.
