DocuSign Opens Cybersecurity Centre In Dublin

DocuSign has opened a cybersecurity ‘centre of excellence’ in Dublin to conduct research and develop tools that will strengthen the protection of its e-signature and digital transaction management platforms.

The centre’s initial focus will be security orchestration and automation technology, but will also work to bring together experts who can share intelligence and benefit the wider tech community.

The company says both employees and customers will benefit and hopes its investment will increase trust in its products, which have been adopted by Microsoft, IBM and Cisco among others.

Although traction is increasing, some are still sceptical about the security of e-signatures which are not only personal to many people but can be used to sign official documents. Europe is further behind the US because of regulatory and cultural reasons.

“Our customers are committed to undertaking digital transformations which are underpinned by a high level of security and trust,” said Eoin Hinchy, director of Information Security at DocuSign.  “This trust can only be built on a weight of cybersecurity intelligence and a culture of constant innovation that ensures their data is safeguarded. With the proliferation of cyberattacks continuing to grow every day, it is essential to stay ahead of these challenges and mitigate any risk.

“This is exactly what the research and development and the customised security tools from the Centre of Excellence will help us do.”

The facility in the Irish capital is part of an ongoing push by the company into the European market which has also seen it open new data centres on the continent. This allows it to target countries and markets which must adhere to EU data protection regulations.
