HTC One M8 Max Could Be HTC’s Most Powerful Phone Yet
New device rumoured to feature a 5.5in HD screen with 2K resolution and run Android L
More details have emerged regarding a new flagship device from Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC, building on the recent success of its One and One M8 devices.
The HTC One M8 Max looks set to rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus with a super-sized screen backed up by some seriously powerful hardware and an huge screen capable of displaying HD video quality.
The purported leaks come courtesy of Chinese technology website My Drivers, which claims to have obtained details of the handset’s components, which include a 2.7MHz Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a hefty 3,000mAh battery.
The device will feature a 5.5-inch QHD display featuring 2K resolution, meaning it should be able to show off high-quality video content with ease, and also include an 18-megapixel rear camera with OIS.
L of a ride
The HTC One M8 Max is expected to run Google’s forthcoming Android L operating system, which could be announced within the next few weeks, combined with the latest version of HTC’s Sense software.
The new device could be revealed very soon, with HTC set to hold a press conference in New York next Wednesday, although this is thought to be more focused towards the company unveiling a camera accessory similar to the highly-popular GoPro device.
HTC has enjoyed something of a return to fortune in recent months following rough months recently. The company’s One and One M8 smartphone (pictured above) proved extremely popular with both reviewers and consumers, and helped HTC to record a net profit of NT$2.26bn (£44m) in its Q2 results, up 80 percent from the same quarter in 2013.
The company is also reportedly set to renew its partnership with Google by building the next version of the latter’s Nexus tablets, with the Nexus 9 set to be revealed sometime this year.
