A new affordable option is now available for consumers interested in making the leap to NEXTGEN TV, thanks to the introduction of the Zinwell NextGen TV Box that is now shipping from Arizona-based Channel Master. The receiver joins the roster of some 100 NEXTGEN TV products expected to be available this year for consumers interested in upgrading to receive the new services from broadcasters, coast-to-coast.

NEXTGEN TV is a revolutionary, free digital broadcast over-the-air technology that utilizes the internet and digital applications powered by the ATSC 3.0 broadcast standard to present viewers with more news and entertainment choices while providing broadcasters with a more compelling and interactive way to deliver their content.

“Congratulations to Channel Master and their decision to offer the Zinwell NextGen TV Box, one of a new class of upgrade accessory receivers that will help consumers tune in to the future. Now that NEXTGEN TV is reaching three out of four TV viewers across America, the timing is perfect to introduce new affordable upgrade accessory receivers like the Zinwell NextGen TV Box. Broadcasters are delighted to see another viewing option available for consumers who’d like to upgrade, without having to buy an entirely new TV set. The Zinwell receiver is one of a new class of upgrade receivers that delivers exceptional video and audio performance to extend the life of existing TV sets and give consumers with an antenna a front-row seat to NEXTGEN TV,” said Anne Schelle, Managing Director of Pearl TV.

Certified and Verified Zinwell Receiver Offers “Unconnected” Mode

Available now for shipment directly to consumers from ChannelMaster.com, the $149 receiver (Model ZAT-600B) is the industry’s first to offer “unconnected mode” for viewing secure broadcast channels.

Designed to work with receiving antenna products such as those offered by Channel Master, the Zinwell receiver fully supports future 4K broadcasts, enhanced Dolby audio, and access to broadcaster applications. The Zinwell receiver includes an on-screen guide and comes with a universal remote that can be programmed to control a TV and/or a sound bar audio system. Certified to carry the NEXTGEN TV logo, the Zinwell ZAT-600B is also A3SA security verified to operate without needing an internet connection for tuning to channels with protected broadcast content.

NEXTGEN TV, a free over-the-air service, is the first major overhaul in nearly 30 years to the Advanced Television Systems Committee broadcast standard. The broadcast technology makes possible a variety of new features for viewers, including:

  • High Dynamic Range (HDR) broadcast video

  • Dialogue enhancement and consistent volume across channels with movie theater-quality audio

  • Enhanced internet content on demand

  • Advanced emergency alerts and information

  • Expanded and hyperlocal news

  • Dual language capabilities

NEXTGEN TV receivers are available to consumers at a wide assortment of retail prices and is built into select TV models and in upgrade accessory receivers manufactured by Zinwell; ADTH; Hisense; Sony; LG; Samsung, and, later this year, TCL.
