IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), a leader in the quantum computing industry, today announced the first public availability of IonQ Forte on Amazon Braket, through the Braket Direct Program. Amazon Braket is a fully managed quantum computing service from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Complementing existing on-demand access, customers can now use Braket Direct to reserve dedicated capacity on different quantum devices of their choice at the convenience of their own schedule. Customers can connect with quantum computing experts from AWS for hands-on support and try out next-gen quantum computers while only paying for the duration of their reservation, all from a single place. Customers can also engage in deep collaborations with IonQ’s application development teams, and connect with them directly from Amazon Braket. IonQ Forte is the latest IonQ system to join Amazon Braket, following IonQ Harmony and IonQ Aria, which are now also available via Braket Direct reservations.
“Braket Direct provides all customers reaching the computational limits of classical computers with access to quantum technologies needed to build expertise, and expand their research and development horizon,” said Richard Moulds, General Manager, Amazon Braket. “IonQ Forte’s addition to Braket Direct furthers the collaboration between our two companies, and paves the way for exploring potential new quantum applications in areas like materials research, computer vision, machine learning, pharmaceuticals, and more.”
First unveiled in 2022, IonQ Forte delivers 29 algorithmic qubits (#AQ) and represents IonQ’s highest-performing commercial system to date. The system’s unique and innovative optical system and the resulting higher gate fidelities enable users to run deeper and wider quantum circuits with higher accuracy to push the boundaries of quantum algorithm research. IonQ Forte also supports error-mitigation techniques that will allow the system to achieve higher #AQ and algorithm accuracy. Customers already using the system include Airbus, Hyundai Motor Company, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
“IonQ Forte’s inclusion on Braket Direct ensures more customers can take advantage of the most powerful commercially available quantum hardware available,” said Peter Chapman, President & CEO, IonQ. “Forte’s availability is imperative for users looking to optimize algorithms for trapped ions and help expand existing applications to new problem spaces. We’re pleased to continue our work with AWS as we collectively work towards making quantum accessible to all.”
“We are excited that IonQ Forte, IonQ’s newest available quantum computer, will now be offered to all Amazon Braket users,” said Dr. Asif Sinay, the CEO of QEDMA, a quantum computing software company. “QEDMA has been using Forte to run cutting-edge error mitigation software that could soon give users access to unparalleled execution of quantum circuits over Braket.”
