CharmHealth, a leader in healthcare technology solutions for providers, today announced that registration is now open for its annual user conference, Charmalot 2024. This signature event brings together the entire CharmHealth ecosystem of healthcare providers, practice administrators, tech developers, partners, entrepreneurs and investors for informative spotlight sessions, panel discussions, and in-depth group sessions. Charmalot 2024 will feature talks by luminaries including Dr. Robert Pearl and Dr. Robert Gabbay. It will also incorporate the CharmHealth Innovation Challenge, which invites new voices and innovative minds in digital health entrepreneurship to debut emerging technologies that fill gaps in existing healthcare workflows and create new models of care. This year’s conference will take place Aug. 23-25 in Washington, D.C.

“Charmalot is one of the biggest highlights of the year for our community,” said Pramila Srinivasan, Ph.D., CEO of CharmHealth. “It is an outstanding time to learn from one another and share some of the incredible advances taking place in digital health. It also presents an enormous opportunity to showcase and support new solutions that will usher in the future of care.”

The CharmHealth ecosystem continues to expand, encompassing a diverse range of healthcare providers, new enterprises, administrators, IT experts, entrepreneurs, vendors and investors. At Charmalot, they will engage in extensive cross-functional networking opportunities with healthcare professionals across various specialties as well as learn from their fellow colleagues.

Headlining this year’s talks will be Dr. Robert Pearl, who served as CEO of The Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente) for 18 years. He is also a clinical professor of plastic surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine and on the faculty at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he teaches courses on healthcare strategy, technology and leadership. Dr. Pearl is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Additionally, he is the author of three books: “Mistreated: Why We Think We’re Getting Good Healthcare — And Why We’re Usually Wrong,” a Washington Post bestseller (2017); “Uncaring: How the Culture of Medicine Kills Doctors and Patients,” a Kirkus star recipient (2021); and “ChatGPT, MD: How AI-Empowered Patients and Doctors Can Take Back Control of American Medicine” (April 2024). Dr. Pearl will speak about the future of healthcare and AI’s role at Charmalot 2024.

Robert Gabbay, M.D., Ph.D., FACP, is a diabetes executive passionate about implementing innovative models of chronic care and committed to improving the lives of all those affected by diabetes. He is currently the chief scientific and medical officer at the American Diabetes Association (ADA), leading efforts to drive discovery within the world of diabetes research, care and prevention and overseeing a network of more than 565,000 volunteers, their families and caregivers, a professional society of nearly 12,000 healthcare professionals, as well as nearly 350 staff members. Dr. Gabbay formerly served as chief medical officer and senior vice president at the world’s premier diabetes clinical, education and research center, Harvard’s Joslin Diabetes Center, and he continues to teach as an associate professor at Harvard Medical School. Along with an extensive peer-reviewed publication record, his ideas have appeared in popular press outlets, such as The New York Times, CNN, Oprah, The Washington Post, and NPR. At Charmalot 2024, Dr. Gabbay will dive into the topic of weight loss, providing rich perspective on the obesity epidemic and the controversial role of drugs like GLP-1s as an avenue for treatment.
