Austin FC and Q2 Holdings Inc. today announced the three recipients of the 2023 Q-mmunity Gives grant program. Local nonprofit organizations CareBOX Program, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) and Seedling Foundation will each receive a $50,000 grant to focus on advancing underrepresented communities in Central Texas.

“Austin is home to a thriving nonprofit community,” said Austin FC President Andy Loughnane. “We are extremely proud to work alongside our partners at Q2 for a third consecutive year in an effort to help enrich the community by supporting local organizations that remain committed to providing equal opportunities for all Texans.”

“At Q2, our mission is to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions,” said Q2 CEO Matt Flake. “We are excited to support the missions of this year’s grant recipients alongside Austin FC and look forward to watching them deepen their impact in Central Texas.”

CareBOX Program’s mission is to help prevent malnutrition, infections and injuries not typically covered by insurance. They provide free essential supplies to cancer patients going through treatment and have delivered over three thousand CareBOXes containing well over a million dollars in supplies.

“I want to express our profound gratitude for the grant provided to CareBOX Program,” said CareBOX Program Executive Director Chandler Stancliff. “Austin FC and Q2’s generous contribution will go a long way in ensuring that the CareBOX Program can continue to make a positive impact in the local cancer community. Again, we can’t thank everyone involved in this decision enough, and we are extremely grateful and excited to work with Austin FC and Q2.”

HAAM provides low-income, working musicians in the Greater Austin area with access to affordable healthcare with a focus on prevention and wellness. By improving and saving musicians’ lives, HAAM and its healthcare partners enhance Austin’s economy and quality of life. HAAM has helped over six thousand musicians across seven counties access over $144 million in healthcare services since its origination in 2005.

“HAAM is honored to be a recipient of the Q-mmunity grant in support of our life-saving programs and services,” said HAAM Chief Development Officer Christopher Alberts. “For every $100 raised, HAAM is able to leverage $700 worth of healthcare services for low-income working musicians in Central Texas, meaning the Q-mmunity Gives grant contribution will provide $350,000 worth of care including preventative and specialty care, dental, mental health, vision, hearing and basic needs. We are so grateful for the support that helps keep music in Austin alive and well.”

Seedling is a Central Texas-based mentorship program that supports children impacted by parental incarceration through school-based mentoring. Their mission is to provide children with the promise of an education, a future and the ability to contribute positively to society. Since its founding in 2006, Seedling has served over 2,700 students across 100+ campuses in 17 independent and charter districts in Central Texas.

“It is a huge honor to have been chosen as a 2023 Q-mmunity Gives grant recipient,” said Seedling Foundation CEO Dan Leal. “This generous gift will bring needed financial support and awareness for Seedling’s life-changing mentoring program for children impacted by parental incarceration. Seedling shares and appreciates Austin FC and Q2’s vision that our Central Texas community has the opportunity and resources needed to thrive. We are so grateful and excited for what this partnership will do for children who are without a parent at home due to incarceration.”

The three (3) grants will contribute directly to aiding each organization in its respective mission related to promoting equity and inclusion in Central Texas. The Q-mmunity Gives grant program, funded and presented by Austin FC and Q2, will continue to award Q-mmunity Gives grants annually.
