Aaron Trujillo has joined Battelle as Director of Congressional Affairs where he will support Battelle’s National Laboratory Management and Operations business and the Battelle-affiliated Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories, Battelle announced today. He will bring his considerable Capitol Hill experience to focus on the areas of applied energy and environmental management.

Trujillo brings more than 16 years of experience in local and national politics, legislative and regulatory processes, strategic communications, and staff management. He has worked as a Senior Legislative Aide and Deputy Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill working with members of congress, congressional staff, and key committees; as a political appointee to the U.S. Commerce Department working with senior administration officials and federal agencies, and as Chief of Staff at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee where he managed a team of more than 150.

Trujillo has a BA in Political Science from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from the American University Kogod School of Business.

“I’m thrilled be joining an organization like Battelle, with its focus on improving society through science and technology and its support of STEM education,” Trujillo said. “I have built a broad skillset that allows me to operate at the nexus between government, business, and a multitude of stakeholder interests, which I plan to use to advance Battelle’s mission.”
