Bank holiday weekends were ruined all over the country following a major mobile signal outage for one of the UK’s largest mobile networks.
O2 customers in London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow and parts of Northern Ireland reported issues over the weekend. Among those affected was Business Secretary Sajid Javid, who tweeted, “No signal @O2. Please sort it out.”
However O2 has confirmed this morning that its service is “back to normal”, having been restored at 23:35 BST on Monday

The company, which is the UK’s second-largest mobile operator, released a statement this morning saying that an investigation into the cause of the problem had been launched.
O2 had advised people to reset their device, and visit its support page if problems persisted during the outage.
A company spokesman said “some customers experienced some problems accessing our network” and that the service had now returned to normal.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to those customers affected and we will now begin a full investigation to identify the root cause,” he added.
