Vodafone has struck a major blow against its rivals in the connected device market with a resounding victory in a survey to find the top M2M providers.
The Reading-based operator was rated the best Machine to Machine (M2M) communications service provider in the world for the fourth year in a row, according to independent research by Analysys Mason.
The scale ranks providers on five criteria, including scale and execution, technological enablement as well as customer support and aftersales support, with Vodafone coming out on top across the board.
11 providers from across the globe were included in the report, including the likes of AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Sprint and Telefonica.
In order to determine top billing, Analysys Mason sends a questionnaire to the service providers, and also spoke to M2M vendors to assess the capabilities of each provider.
“Few global operators provide M2M services at the highest levels, which made it difficult to identify an exceptional operator,” said Morgan Mullooly of Analysys Mason.
“Vodafone manages the greatest number of connections, which is the most unambiguous metric of scale and execution. It also has leading partnerships, network capabilities and clarity of vision, among other remarkable attributes.”
