A partnership between IBM and Juniper Networks has been struck to house IBM’s analytics software in Juniper’s network infrastructure.
The move was announced at IBM’s InterConnect 2015 cloud conference in Las Vegas this week, where the traditional hardware maker reiterated a push into the mobility space.
IBM’s analytics software will be embedded into Juniper’s hardware, ready to give customers real-time network behaviours insights to meet the growing demands of the Internet of Things, the application economy and Big Data.
Bob Picciano, IBM analytics SVP, said: “Integrating predictive analytics directly into the stream of data processing – and embedding it into the network of CSPs – will help to ensure the reliability of the network and improve customer engagement.
“What’s underneath the cloud is network. We need innovation at the network level.”
There was also another mobility-related announcement on the second day of IBM InterConnect – an update to the IBM MobileFirst platform.
IBM announced two new modular mobile solutions for the service, which aim to help users to effectively manage an increasing number of apps and support successful mobile adoption across the enterprise.
“We’ve made it modular so organisations can consume only the services they need,” Buckellew explained.
“With new cloud-based and on premise services we continue to make investments in the IBM MobileFirst platform to ensure out clients can move at the speed of mobile while securely connecting to the enterprise.”
