EE 4G Roaming Problem Leaves Travellers Unable To Call Or Text Home
EE confirms issue with text, calls and data services abroad and confirms it is working on a fix for roaming problems
Some EE customers on business trips or holidays abroad are unable to make calls, send texts and access mobile data due to issues with the operator’s roaming service.
Many, presumably with access to Wi-Fi, have voiced their frustration on social media. According to Twitter, the problems are affecting travellers in France and Spain as well as other countries.
It is unclear which nations are affected, whether it’s a problem with EE or its network partners, or how long the issue will last for, but the company says it is working on it.
EE roaming
“We’re aware that some EE customers travelling abroad are experiencing issues getting connected to roaming services,” an EE spokesperson told TechWeekEurope.
“We apologise to any customers affected, and we are continuing to urgently work with our roaming network partners to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Customers can try restarting their device or turning flight mode on and off as that has restored service for a number of customers and may help to resolve the problem.”
EE’s network in the UK has suffered from a number of outages in the past, including one earlier this year caused by an issue with a data centre.
So @EE have still got issues with roaming “No Service” I bet they won’t have any issues with taking payment for data roaming fees!

It launched 4G roaming in 2014, but was forced to refund some customers for a VAT billing error in 2015. A credit was applied to affected accounts for the roaming miscalculation, which occurred between October 2012 and October 2014.
