The smartphone is now the primary device of choice for UK Internet users according to Ofcom, the latest development in the UK’s three decade-long love affair with the mobile phone.

Part of the reason for this is the spread of 4G networks, which now cover 89.5 percent of the UK. The UK’s four major operators – EE, O2, Three and Vodafone – are all working to enhance coverage and get more people on lucrative LTE contracts.
