Vertu Reveals Its Most Powerful Luxury Device Yet
£6,800 New Signature Touch smartphone features powerful hardware and luxury extras
Luxury smartphone maker Vertu has revealed its most powerful device ever as it looks to properly compete with the big players in the mobile market.
The New Vertu Signature Touch is built from 263 hand-crafted individual pieces, making it also Vertu’s most complex device.
Costing just £6,800, the new device will be available in a range of luxurious features, including Vertu’s trademark concierge service, which can help you with anything from helicopter hire to last-minute football tickets.
Evolution
An ‘evolved’ version of the previous Vertu device range, the New Signature Touch features a 5.2in Full HD 428ppi display protected by a 130 carat sapphire cut crystal screen.
Inside, there is an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory (which can be expanded to 2TB via microSD), powered by a 3160mAh battery. There’s also Qi standard wireless charging, NFC capability, all supported by the latest version of Android 5.1 Lollipop, and thanks to a new partnership with iPass, the new device features access to Wi-Fi networks around the globe to keep you connected.
The main camera is a 21MP F2.2 lens featuring dual tone LED flash, making it Vertu’s most powerful yet, coupled with a 2.1MP front-facing camera for selfies and Skype chats.
As usual for Vertu devices, the audio hardware is beyond many other devices on the market to take advantage of the New Signature Touch’s front-facing stereo speakers, as the company teams up again with Dolby to provide the latter’s Digital Plus virtual surround sound processing.
As for personalisation, the New Signature Touch will be available in a range of four colours, across eight product executions; Jet Calf, Garnet Calf, Grape Lizard, Pure Jet Lizard, Jet Alligator, Pure Navy Alligator, Clous de Paris Alligator and Pure Jet Red Gold, each of which can be personalised with engraving.
But where Vertu has always excelled is through its Concierge service, a specialised app which allows owners to call on a dedicated service wherever they are for those last-minute requests. Customers get access to a single dedicate point of contact who can sort anything from arranging travel, accommodation and dining experiences to gift sourcing and access to money-can’t-buy events.
The service has also now been extended to be complimentary on device for 18 months, and also includes Vertu LIFE, a new personalised feature that extends special and exclusive offers to customers based on their location. Like O2 Priority for millionaires, Vertu LIFE can offer you last-minute nightclub entry, special deals on local restaurants, or provide exclusive access to money can’t buy experiences.
All of this combines to make the New Signature Touch Vertu’s most powerful and exciting device yet – so if you have a spare £6,800 floating around your wallet, you know where to go.
