iPad Mini 4
The iPad Mini 4 was a more significant refresh than its predecessor and was released in September 2015 alongside the iPad Pro. It had 1GB of extra RAM allowing it to have many of the same multitasking features as its bigger brother.
Inside, the iPad Mini 4 was closer to an iPad Air 2 than anything else and had Apple Pay support. It remains the most recent iPad Mini available.
iPad Pro
The iPad Pro 12.9 inch is the biggest iPad ever released and was the first time Apple really pitched its tablets as a true laptop replacement for businesses. It was powerful, large and had keyboard and stylus accessories that would allow it to compete with high end rivals. The 256 model has the largest capacity of any iPad ever.
The 9.7 inch model arrived a little later and is the most recent 9.7 inch iPad you can buy today.
