Vodafone Scooters Deliver Replacement Smartphones To SMBs ‘Within Four Hours’
Vodafone claims SMBs can lose up to £12,000 a day if their mobile phone is lost, stolen or damaged
Vodafone has promised to deliver a replacement for a lost, stolen or damaged mobile phone to small business customers within four hours of an approved insurance claim being made.
A dedicated team of scooter drivers will deliver the handsets in London, while couriers will provide units outside the capital.
‘Vodafone Rapid’ is included in the operator’s ‘Business Premier’ tariff, which is aimed at small businesses with up to nine employees, and will be offered to larger SMB customers later this year.

Vodafone Rapid
A survey commissioned by the company claims not having a mobile phone could cost a small business up to £12,000 per day (based on losing four opportunities worth £3,000 each) and one fifth has suffered from a lost, stolen or damaged phone. However only 55 percent of respondents said they had mobile phone insurance.
“When the potential loss of new business opportunities equates to billions of pounds for small businesses country-wide, and more importantly could mean that a small business misses out on that vital call, it’s business critical to get replacement phones into the hands of business owners as quickly as possible when they find their mobile is lost, stolen or damaged,” said Phil Mottram, enterprise director.
“This is where Vodafone Rapid comes in – getting the country’s small business population back up and running with a replacement phone within just four hours.”
If the phone doesn’t arrive within the four hours, customers will be given £10 every 60 minutes up to a total cost of £40. While a nice gesture, it hardly makes up for the thousands of pounds the operator claims businesses would be missing.
