Samsung Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Spotted In The Wild

Samsung’s newest flagship devices have received an unexpected reveal just weeks ahead of their anticipated launch at Mobile World Congress 2016.

Images purporting to show the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have appeared online, marking the first time that the devices have been revealed to the wider world ahead of their official unveiling later this month.

Although much has been speculated about the hardware within the devices, this latest leak shows the design and build of Samsung’s newest smartphones in more detail than ever before.

The first image (pictured above), which comes from Vietnamese site Review Dao, apparently shows the rear of the 32GB Galaxy S7 model, showing a curvier, slicker build with a plastic rear panel, as opposed to the raft of metal-built devices currently on the market today.

The image shows that the Galaxy S7 may be sporting a smaller camera than its predecessor, as there is no noticeable bump for the device’s lens, adding weight to rumours that it will feature a 12MP sensor compared to the 16MP camera on the Galaxy S6.

The second leaked image (shown below), originating from Chinese microblogging site Weibo, claims to show the front of the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Featuring a curved display, similar to its predecessor, which runs edge to edge of the device, the Galaxy S7 Edge looks to be a most powerful version of the Galaxy S7, with a larger battery and more RAM.

Samsung sent out official media invites to its Galaxy Unpacked event in Barcelona on February 21, where the new devices will be officially revealed to the world’s media. According to reports swirling around the event, Samsung could also reveal a new edition of its Galaxy Note phablet or an updated edition of its Galaxy VR headset as well.
