Windows 10 Mobile Is Coming In December

Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 Mobile will be released in a matter of weeks as it looks to bring the power of its latest operating system to your smartphone.

The company let slip that the new software will be available for users to upgrade to from December during a Q&A on the Facebook page for its Lumia smartphones.

“Broad availability of Windows 10 on other devices, including mobile phones, will begin rolling out in December,” Microsoft said.

Upgraded

Microsoft says it will be making the upgrade available to those users running Windows 8.1 Denim (version 8.10.14219.341, or higher) and with 8GB of internal memory, which it says is the majority of Lumia devices currently on the market today.

The full list of devices that will be eligible for an upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile is Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 635 (1 GB RAM), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930.

But those eager to try out Windows 10 Mobile before December will be able to do so by snapping up one of the newest Lumia smartphones, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, (pictured above) which were revealed by Microsoft last week and will start shipping later this month.

Microsoft will be hoping that Windows 10 Mobile will prove as popular as the roll-out of its new software across PC devices.

The company claimed last week that 110 million devices across the world were now running Windows 10, which is still available as a free upgrade to any users still running Windows 7 and 8.
