Windows 10 Mobile ‘Set To Launch Tomorrow’
Sources reveal Microsoft’s mobile-friendly version of Windows 10 is coming on March 17
Microsoft’s device-focused Windows 10 Mobile platform is finally set to see the light of day this week following months of delays, it has been reported.
Sources speaking to notorious huckster turned Venture Beat reporter Evan Blass have said that Microsoft is set to confirm the launch and same-day availability of Windows 10 Mobile tomorrow, March 17.
The launch will put to rest months of delays and troubles for Microsoft as it looks to complete its dream of having a billion devices running Windows 10.

Blass reports that the upgrade will initially need to be initiated manually, even if they are Microsoft or Lumia-branded devices, although which exact devices are eligible is still unknown.
However it is thought that the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, the Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 635 (1 GB RAM), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830, and Lumia 930 will all be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.
The last apparent details around Windows 10 Mobile’s launch concerned a February 1 release alongside the Lumia 650, although this proved to be the latest false alarm.
Microsoft had previously said that smartphone users would be able to upgrade their handset to Windows 10 in December, before then pushing back the OS update until “early 2016”.
Prior to this, Microsoft had already endured a number of embrassing step-downs and turn-arounds concerning Windows 10, including postponing the initial launch last year following complaints from users that a preview version highlighted many flaws in the software.
Microsoft says that Windows 10 adoption is growing the fastest out of any version of Windows previously released, outpacing Windows 7 by nearly 140 percent and Windows 8 by nearly 400 percent.
Since its launch last Summer, the software is already running on 200 million devices around the world, with Microsoft setting an ambitious ultimate target of more than one billion devices across mobile and PC platforms.
