Samsung smartphone owners will now be able to enjoy quicker and smarter support than ever before thanks to a major update to one of the company’s most unheralded apps.
Samsung+ provides device users with a direct route to the company’s support lines, helping to amend and repair any issues they may have with a device, meaning customers don’t have to trudge to their network provider for help.
And the new version of the app, available to download from Google Play now, brings a number of improvements that customers should find beneficial, including the introduction of one-touch access to Samsung’s Customer Support by phone or live video chat (pictured below).
Initially available on the company’s most recent smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Samsung Assist allows support agents remotely control a device in order to fix issues.
Once connected, Samsung Assist allows the agents to remotely change the settings on the device or walk users through tasks they are having trouble with.
However, in the interest of privacy, areas such as messaging or the camera gallery will be off limits to protect the user’s privacy, unless they explicitly grant permission.
Also included in the new Samsung+ is a library of on-demand searchable answers to common questions, a diagnostics tool to spot potential device issues, and a built-in community section for crowd-based support.
And if you are a serious Samsung fan, the app will now be able to offer support for the company’s entire range of products, from televisions to smart fridges, and can even provide access to Samsung-sponsored content and events.
