Three New Jive Mobile Apps Aim To Simplify Workplace Collaboration

Jive has detailed three new mobile applications that aim to simplify and hasten internal communication and collaboration within businesses.

The company says existing methods, such as email threads and text messages, just aren’t dynamic enough for many firms and says Jive Daily, Jive Chime and Jive People can make it easier to disseminate information and collaborate in real time.

The first application, Jive Daily, will be available on 18 February from the App Store and Google Play and allows executives to share internal news with employees.

Feeds are tailored according to the role of the employee and Jive claims the medium is much more personal than email, especially with the addition of comments, likes and follows. Detailed analytics let executives see who is reading and participating in conversations, demonstrating which news stories have the most impact.

The next two apps, messaging platform Jive Chime and corporate directory Jive People, will be released in the coming months.

Used in combination, the apps aim to replace texts as a communication method and eradicate the need for employees to share personal information such as phone numbers with each other. Individual and group chats can be held either through the application or on the web.

“We’ve found that businesses of all shapes and sizes struggle to keep employees informed, engaged and in touch across increasingly distributed, multi-generational workforces,” said Elisa Steele, president, Jive Software. “Jive Daily, Jive Chime and Jive People provide intuitive, frictionless mobile experiences that help companies embrace employees’ various workstyles and drive strategic alignment as a competitive differentiator.”

Last year Cisco shelved its WebEx social service in favour of Jive, which is now integrated with the networking firms communication products.
